Struggling with pain after spinal surgery? Research shows that conservative chiropractic care can significantly reduce postsurgical lumbar pain levels.
After undergoing spinal surgery, some individuals experience mild to debilitating postsurgical spinal pain. Researchers recently evaluated the success of conservative chiropractic care in managing this pain, with promising results.
Research Findings
In a study of 32 cases, patients suffering from postsurgical lumbar spine pain were treated with chiropractic care for a minimum of two weeks. Findings showed that mean pain scores were lowered from 6.4 to 2.3 out of 10. Pain reduction was most remarkable in patients who underwent surgeries combining lumbar discectomy, fusion, and/or laminectomy.
Notably, no adverse events were reported for any of these postsurgical patients who received chiropractic care, highlighting it as a safe and effective option for post-operative recovery.
